Stream Data Centers has proposed a significant data center project near Douglasville, Georgia, involving nine buildings, each 150,000 square feet, totaling 1.3 million square feet of development. The site is located off Polk Road, about four miles west of Douglasville and a 30-minute drive from Atlanta. Data centers are major power consumers, with Georgia Power projecting they will account for 83% of its power generation in the next 12 years.
Douglas County has already attracted major investments, including over $1.2 billion from Google. Stream Data Centers, an affiliate of Stream Realty Partners with a presence in major markets like Chicago, Dallas, and Phoenix, is planning to develop a 246-acre site in West Atlanta, potentially ready in two years.
